Office of Law Enforcement Recruitment Virtual Discussion: Women in Policing

Time: 12:00pm – 1:30pm

The Office of Law Enforcement Recruitment would like to invite you to a panel discussion on women in policing. With insufficient research on the understanding of the unique challenges that women officers face and how to mitigate or overcome these challenges, we’re bringing the individual experiences of these women in uniform to the discussion. We also hope to engage our audience around race, as gender and race are inextricable issues. Our ultimate goal is to address the intersectionality of gender and race relevant to women in policing.
Panelists include:
- Officer Sarah Shendy, Copley Police Department & Office of Law Enforcement Recruitment
- Chief Kimberly Spears-McNatt, The Ohio State University Police Department
- Officer Diane Dudziak, Kent State University Police Department
- Charmin Leon, Former Sgt. with the Cleveland Police Department & Implementation Specialist with the Center for Policing Equity
- Chief Tiffany Tims, Hocking College Police Department
Moderator:
- Anjolie Harland, Research Analyst with the Office of Criminal Justice Services
